Arturo Mantecón is the translator of the mad Spanish poet, Leopoldo María Panero. His published volumes of the poet’s work include My Naked Brain and Like an eye in the hand of a beggar. Lucina Schell recently reviewed the latter at Reading in Translation. Mantecon is currently working on translating the work of another Spaniard, Ferrer Lerín.

Poets in their own right, Beck and Mantecón will read their own work, time permitting. The Readers Café and Bookstore is operated by the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
