Marianne Villanueva (“The Elephant,” Issue 5) will be
Mendocino Art Center’s first Writer-in-Residence for January & February 2015.
She has also collaborated on an opera, Marife,
based on the true story of a Filipina mail-order bride who married Oklahoma City-bomber Terry Nichols.
Marife’s orchestral arrangement, by the opera’s composer Drew Hemeger,
is receiving its world premiere on March 14, 2015 in New Hampshire.
Marianne is also starting a small press called Vendetta House,
which will focus on flash speculative fiction (500 words max).
She is finalizing the website and it will hopefully go live before the end of 2014.
